You can get many benefits from electronic filing that you can’t get from paper filing, including:

In the event you owe, opt for direct debit/withdrawal from your financial institution and choose the date (up to April 15) you need to pay without writing and mailing your own check.

Paperless filing – is it true?
Paperless filing is normal with e-filing.
You should, following the electronic filing of your return,:
Your return should be printed and/or saved;
Maintain copies of the W-2’s, 1099’s, and other documents needed to complete your taxes; and
Records and documents related to taxation should be kept for at least four years (the department may later request these documents).
You are not required to submit required documents within 48 hours after the department receives your tax return if you claim the homestead credit or one of the other credits or deductions on the Form W-RA.
If you need to submit documents, you have several options. The following are possible:
Files should be transferred through W-RA;
Your software will guide you on how to e-file them (see instructions).
The Form W-RA should be mailed along with them.
If I file my taxes electronically in 2020, when can I do so?
IRS and Wisconsin Department of Revenue will accept electronic IRS and Wisconsin Department of Revenue returns from February 12, 2021. Wisconsin Department of revenue.

How do you accept payments?
This option allows you to pay the amount owed on the date of your choosing from a checking or savings account (for electronic filers only).
Payment can be made online by paying the Wisconsin Department of Revenue with a check or savings account on any date of your choosing. Wisconsin Department of revenue.
The following credit cards are accepted: American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and VISA. Fees are charged for convenience. Wisconsin Department of Revenue does not receive any portion of the fee.
Fill out the Electronic Payment Voucher (EPV) and attach your check to it, and then mail it to the address on the voucher.
Your check should accompany your paper tax return if you are filing on paper. After your return is processed, a bill will be mailed to you if you don’t enclose a check. It is possible that interest will be added to the amount owed as well as the time it takes for processing.
